What TV show(s) will you be watching this season? Why?
Submitted by ducnly.vox.com.
Monday - Vanished (Gale Harold rocks!)
Tuesday - House (Hugh Laurie, sarcasm), Gilmore Girls (seen it since the beginning have to see how it ends), Veronica Mars(smart and witty), Standoff (like the dynamics)
Wednesday - Bones (has it's moments)
Thursday - Grey's Anatomy(just love everything about it), CSI (always the original), Smallville, Supernatural (both have cute boys. :))
Friday - Ghost Whisperer, Numb3rs (I like underdogs)
Saturday - hmm, nothing??
Sunday - Brothers & Sisters (we'll see how it goes - liked the premiere)
Man I wish I had a tivo, you people down in the US are lucky you have them, I have to go old school recording with a VHS! Which means unless I invest in an endless supply of videos, I have to be home to watch some of those shows. Especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when there are multiple shows at the same time.
What was the highlight of your summer?
Submitted by ladym.vox.com.
I'd have to say the highlight of my summer was the day I closed on my house. :) My first house, while everything went smoothly, there was always that thought in the back of my mind, what if? Of course the only thing that happened was that I closed and then I had to set about getting it ready to move into. Despite the work required to move in and everything else associated with a house purchase. It made my summer to know, I OWN my house.
If you could write a book about anything, what would it be about?
This is actually one of those questions that I ask myself almost daily. I have always wanted to be a writer, although the practical side of me realized that I needed a stable career, I dabbled in poetry, short stories, essays, whatever over the years. The ideal being to write a novel, of course I have yet to come up with a topic. My computer has files upon files of started stories that I have abandoned because I hit a wall and couldn't find my voice in them.
One day though, for now I just read as much as I can by other people, hoping to find the inspiration I seek.
What is your browser's default home page set to?
Submitted by Kelev T. Cat.
For me it all about "about:blank", it actually drives me nuts when I open my browser to go somewhere then it opens a page I don't want to necessarily look at just then. I much prefer opening the browser and TELLING it where to go. Perhaps I have a slight god complex, "You WILL do what I tell you to!". Muhahahahahhahahaha!
What's the nerdiest thing about you?
I suppose it all depends on your definition of nerdy. I mean there is the rampant OCD regarding my websites, books etc. There is the fact that I make budget/TV schedules/income summaries in excel spreadsheets. I try to find time to learn coding, french, SLR camera operation. I suppose getting my geek on is just second nature at this point.
Or are any of those things that nerdy? It seems that the definition changes on a daily basis. It used to be I was a huge nerd just because I was able to operate a computer competently. Now-a-days everyone and their dog is computer literate, blogging, coding, et all. So does that make me less nerdy? Is the world on a whole becoming nerdier? Is the nerdiest thing I do overanalyzing being nerdy? :)
What was the highlight of this past weekend?
Air Conditioning!! We were having a lovely little heat wave here and the temp was stuck at about 30°C the whole weekend. I can't handle that! I am a fair weather girl, give me overcast skies and rain anyday over scorching heat.
Who is your favorite Muppet? Why?
QotD submitted by knitwitology.vox.com.
I have to say I was always partial to Gonzo, he was just such a social outcast. You had to feel for him, never hitting the right note on the silly trumpet in the opening. Also I always liked that Rizzo had wonderful oneliners, dripping with sarcasm. :) Good stuff!
What did you do this weekend?
This weekend, I got to go down island and see Feist, who was amazing! Plus got to hang out with some friends who I don't get to see that often since they live 3 hours away. :)
Although the drive back and forth make me so sore! My back is killing me now! Thank god for heating pads and painkillers.
Had a blast though this weekend, got to eat at some of my Fav Victoria restaurants. Yum!
Now it's back to the real world tomorrow. *sigh*
A while back I got excited because Feist was coming to play a concert on the island (in Victoria) and I was actually able to attend (for once!). I tried to find people to go with me, but alas everyone was busy, damn them! As it turns out though, my friend Tweek is actually now available to go! Yay! He is off to grab us tickets. I am very excited to see her live. Of course it is terribly short notice, the concert is this Friday! Thank god I don't have a life or anything and had other plans. Now I just have to figure out who I can stay with and if I want to stay in Victoria more than one day. Oh and what organ I can sell to be able to actually afford to go...
